How to complete the suitability questionnaire ?

And what for ?

Before investing on We Take Part, every user must complete a suitability questionnaire. This mandatory step, governed by the MiFID II Directive and the ECSP Regulation, is designed to protect you by assessing whether the proposed investments are appropriate for your investor profile.

A regulatory obligation for your protection

As an ECSP-authorised Crowdfunding Service Provider approved by the AMF, We Take Part does not provide investment advice. This questionnaire allows us to assess your knowledge and experience in order to clearly inform you about the risks associated with financial instruments offered on the platform. The questionnaire is completed after registration, once you have indicated whether you are a sophisticated or non-sophisticated investor. Some questions may seem personal, but they are essential to ensure that you invest with full awareness of the risks involved.

Important: All your answers remain strictly confidential and are accessible only to We Take Part’s investment management team. As an ECSP, we are subject to regular cybersecurity audits by the AMF and must guarantee the protection of your personal data.

The three dimensions assessed

1. Your investment objectives

This section assesses your motivations and investment horizon:

  • Why do you invest? (climate impact, returns, diversification, etc.)
  • Over what period do you intend to invest?
  • What portion of your capital are you willing to commit?

These questions help you clarify your expectations before making any investment.

2. Your knowledge of crowdfunding and financial instruments

We assess your understanding of the financial instruments offered on the platform:

  • Are you familiar with different types of securities (shares, bonds)?
  • Do you understand how crowdequity works?
  • Are you aware of the specific risks associated with startups?

At We Take Part, we exclusively offer crowdequity investments (shares and convertible bonds). A solid understanding of these concepts is essential to invest responsibly.

3. Your experience and financial situation

This section collects information about:

  • Your recent investment experience (over the last 12 months)
  • Any professional experience in investment or finance
  • The source of your income
  • Your net worth

This information helps ensure that the amounts invested and the nature of the investments offered are consistent with your financial situation.

What happens after completing the questionnaire?

Your answers determine your level of access to the platform:

  • If your profile is suitable: you gain access to all investment opportunities
  • If gaps are identified: we direct you to educational resources before you can invest
  • If risks are identified: we may limit the amounts you can invest for your protection

The suitability questionnaire is therefore far from a mere administrative formality: it is a key pillar of investor protection within the framework of regulated crowdfunding. It ensures that each investor possesses the knowledge, experience, and financial capacity necessary to understand the risks associated with crowdequity investments. At We Take Part, this process is fully aligned with our mission: making investment in cleantech and climate tech startups accessible, transparent, and responsible. By assessing your profile, we help create a safer, more conscious investment environment that is better aligned with your objectives. It also allows us to better understand our investor community and offer projects that match your expectations and capabilities. Taking a few minutes to complete this questionnaire is therefore a step toward investing with full awareness, laying the foundation for sustainable engagement—both for your portfolio and for the ecological transition.

Investing in startups involves a risk of total or partial loss of the invested capital and a risk of illiquidity. Only invest what you are willing to lose.
